Twenty-year-old Ella John, who was born in the Bijlmer and now lives in Zaanstad, turned out to be a true talent at a young age. Coming from a musical family, with musical influences in Reggae, Gospel, Rap, Soul and R&B, she began writing poetry. At the age of six she writes her first rap texts. In addition to his all, Ella has been very athletic since a young age and turned her musicality into dance at the age of twelve.
At the age of eighteen she did an internship at Hiphopcypher ZSAlliance, where her brother John Negus can be found in the studio on a daily basis. After her internship she decides to fully invest in her rap career. After dropping a few tracks she stands out from the rest and starts her collaboration with Apsu. On November 23, 2017 her first EP "Ofa" was released. You can hear a mix of rap, dancehall and grime and she shows her Surinamese roots. With this project she became Artist of the Week at FunX.
After the video clip of "Makwala" her second single "Weh Yuh Deh" was released, which now has more than 80,000 streams. In May she became ‘Talent of the Month’ at 101Barz.
